This is usually one of the first questions that potential clients ask us (along with how much is it going to cost) and I always give them the same answer “It depends”.

There’s a few factors that will hold up a website project, but before we go into that, let’s answer this question as best we can and then go into the circumstances that will hold up a web design project.

Our average website build time is approx 4-6 weeks.

Technically all websites will ‘work’ on a tablet or mobile – even the ones that have been built badly. The difference between a bad website and a modern responsive website is that websites that have been built with responsive design will be optimised for mobile and tablets and the viewing experience will be exceptionally better.

We like to make sure we get things right the first time, which is why we have a thorough process in place to ensure all our web designs not only look great but meet our clients expectations. We like to make sure we generate great results for our clients every time, so here’s a basic rundown of how our web design process works:-

Initial consultation 
This is where we’ll ask lots of questions about what you want your website to achieve, your target market, the functionality you require and if you require additional services like SEO, support or extra training etc (either in person or via phone/Skype).

Quote/proposal
We’ll provide you with a quote/proposal outlining what we’ll provide and all costs – no hidden extras.

Design brief
Once you approve our quote we send you a design brief – this gives us an idea of the look and feel you’re going for. You can even fill out our design brief form online… super easy.

Website build
After receiving the design brief back from you, we begin building your website! We create your design on a development server – this means that when we send you a proof of concept you’ll be able to click on menu items and navigate around your new site in a ‘live’ environment.

Set the site live
We’ll take care of setting your new website live – make sure domains are pointed to the correct server and ensure you won’t miss any emails.

Training
We’ll provide you with training on how you can edit and update your own website (either in Joomla or Wordpress).

The answer to this question is typically the same as “how long is a piece of string”. It depends. The amount of pages you have on your website and the functionality you require are the key factors behind the price of a website build.
